Anna Marie Krause
Anna Marie Krause passed away on January 5th. Her visitation is Monday, January 9th from 10:00-11:00am and funeral service at 11:00am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, MO. She was the executive secretary to the head of school at SPC/SPLHS for 28 years. She served for Lambert Mehl, Walter Rosin, Wm. Keel, Albert Wingfield, Erick Helge, and Richard Gove. Dr. Larry Henry Grothaus was called to his eternal home in heaven on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. He was asked to be the high school dorm counselor and teach history at St. Paul's College in January 1954 and taught here for 14 years. View his full obituary online here.Rev. Otto Henry Urban
The Rev. Otto Henry Urban, former professor at St. Paul’s College passed away on Sunday, August 28. He had been a resident for the past few years at the Good Shepherd Village in Concordia, MO.Rev Urban was born on January 20, 1933 in Houston, TX. He attended Concordia Lutheran Academy (High School) in Austin, TX and St. John’s College in Winfield, KS before entering Concordia Seminary in St. Louis where he earned his BA degree (1957). He furthered his education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK and West Texas State University in Canyon, TX where he received his MA degree (1966). He also did graduate work at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO.
Pastor Urban served Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Sebastopol, CA from 1957 – 1960, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lone Wolf, OK from 1960 – 1964, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Plainview, TX from 1964-1966.
Rev. Urban came to SPC in July of 1966 as a college Assistant Professor of English. He taught in that capacity until January of 1977 when he accepted a call to a pastorate in Montana.
Following his graduation from the seminary, Rev. Urban married Vonda Lee Green and this union was blessed with 6 children (LeAnn, Lynetta, Douglas, Delisa, Natalie, and Nathan).
